For those who know me, they know that the best way to represent how I feel or the extra motivation I need is easily captured through Quotes. Admittedly, I have a pinterest page full of different quotes of the many different seasons that I have lived through. They help motivate, strengthen, and encourage me to follow my dreams and to always keep pushing through.
My first favorite quote is:
"You are the the most valuable investment you will ever make."
This quote is by far my most favorite one to live by. It is 100% true. At any given time the most valuable investment is yourself. Make sure to remind yourself daily and find ways to invest in yourself. For me, I love to learn. I love to learn different ways to capture my clients in photos. I am really interesting in marketing so I find ways to learn more about marketing. I would like to be a well rounded human being so I invest in myself to learn different hobbies, exercises, and find new adventures. Never be afraid to invest in yourself. Don't limit yourself. Follow your dreams and each day find a way to invest in the life you want to live.
My second favorite quote is:
"Things to Remember. You don't have to be perfect. Having a bad day is ok. Small steps are also progress. Asking for help is strength. People love and appreciate you."
This quote resonates more with me as a parent. I feel as a parent we have so many stereotypes, and ideals of how to be the perfect parent. Knowing that it is ok to have a bad day and not everything is going to be perfect is helpful. Being a parent is probably one of the most difficult jobs anyone can have. I admit that 5th part of the quote "asking for help is strength" is something that I struggle with on a daily basis. For me, I know that everyone is fighting their own battles so I don't want to ask for help but I think that is biggest strengths we can have in life. Acknowledging we need help is POWER. No one knows your situation unless you ASK. This quote works perfectly for my son as well. This sweet boy of ours strives so much to be great (which in our eyes he is!) But he definitely can get upset when things don't go his way. I love repeating this quote to him because it more than often calms him down and makes him realize that everything is going to be okay.
My third favorite quote is:
"You are Amazing.
You are Important.
You are Special.
You are Unique.
You are Kind.
You are Precious.
You are Loved."
Can you guess who this quote is for. Yup, you guessed it, My son. We actually live by this quote and a daily affirmation of "I am smart, I am brave and I am Safe." Being a child is such a hard job. We are constantly learning how to be a great human being, how to treat others, and not to mention everything they learn at School. I always want to make my son know how much we appreciate him and to know that no matter what he is loved. Sometimes he becomes afraid to tell us the truth because he knows that it wasn't a good choice. I always assure him that I cannot get mad at him for telling me the truth. The fact that he knew his choice wasn't the best was all he needed to know, and he made that decision on his own. Even though this quote is more geared to children, I think us adults need to hear this as well. We've got this, and there are times where we need to see this for assurance as well!
If you live by quotes like I do, or know someone who may need to see these quotes, please share! I also would LOVE to hear what quotes you live by in your daily life.
